Before charging off path, digging my hands and feet into loose iron to keep momentum and propel my trailblazing ascent.

I take in the summit before walking down its saddle and scramble up the last 1,000 feet of class four climbing full of summit fever and think of how my father once said to me,

 I giggle and rock climb up and over sketchy outcroppings in glee,
